The today-built-up area of the hotel used to belong to the local national committee; it also served as a coaching inn and a kindergarten. In 1993 the original building and neighbouring land were bought by the Czech-American professor Antonín Hrabal. He had the property pulled down and built a brand new object on new foundations. Professor Hrabal, a physician, built a modern private clinic “Institut Hippokrates” specialized in treatment of civilizeion diseases. The architecture of the clinic was rooted in the classical style and used many antique decorative elements. The Hippokrates clinic functioned from 1996 to approximately 2001. The professor’s Hrabal prospectus proved itself timeless; the company filed in a petition in bankruptcy due to financial problem in January 2002 and the last patients left the clinic in June 2002.
For more detailed information of the services provided see below the leaflets of Institut Hippokrates.
ZFP Akademie, a.s. bought the object, including the garden area, and after a demanding reconstruction started to run the new Akademie Seminar Hotel Hrubá Voda in September 2004. Apart from the inner plan of the hotel itself, significant changes were made to the vast garden area.
